Testimonials

Hear from Our Patients

Dan G - Yelm

I really appreciate the professionalism they exhibit and the care they put into their work. Honest and up front with cost analysis so you can decide on what procedures you want completed. This is my dental place for years and years to come!

K G - West Richland

Highly recommend! I've been having Jessica T. clean my teeth since 2007, she's the BEST! No pain or discomfort and my teeth have stayed healthy. Wherever she goes, my family goes! The office is conveniently located in west richland, brand new building w/ new technology, and the dentist is friendly and knowledgeable. Husband had a tooth break recently, they were able to get him in right away and took great care of him. The most gentle extraction he's ever had.

M Gormley - North Richland

Returning patient of the N. Richland office after moving away for five years. Appreciated Julie's thorough care and helpful advice - as per her usual high standards. I had seen Dr. Weatherill only a few times after Dr. Lagergren's practice was purchased. Dr. Weatherill is as professional and friendly as I remembered. Glad to be back!.

Ashley B - Washington

I have dental insurance that iant accepted here but I pay cash to go here because the staff is friendly and understanding. The doctors are professional and non judgemental as well as understanding and reassuring. I would recommend this dental office to anyone.

Erin G - Deschutes

I had a wonderful experience at my recent dental appointment at Family First Dental on Deschutes. As a first-time patient, I was so impressed by how thorough the exam was. The doctor was kind and informative, my hygienist was absolutely wonderful, and the entire staff made me feel genuinely welcomed from the moment I arrived. It's refreshing to find an office that is both professional and warm and I'm really looking forward to building a long-term relationship with this team. Highly recommend!

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions About General Dental Care

What happens during a dental exam?

During a dental exam, our team evaluates more than whether you have cavities. We check your teeth, gums, bite, existing dental work, jaw function, and overall oral health. Our team looks for early signs of decay, gum inflammation, tooth wear, infection, or other changes that may need attention. Digital X-rays or intraoral imaging may be recommended when we need a closer look at areas that cannot be fully seen during a visual exam. Afterward, we explain what we found, answer your questions, and help you understand any treatment options that would support your long-term oral health.

What does preventive dentistry include?

Preventive dental care includes the routine services and daily habits that help protect your teeth and gums before problems become more serious. This may include professional cleanings, dental exams, digital X-rays, fluoride treatments, gum health checks, and oral cancer screenings. Along with overall guidance on brushing, flossing, diet, and home dental care. The goal is to reduce your risk of cavities, gum disease, enamel wear, and preventable dental problems over time.

What should I do if I have tooth pain?

If you have tooth pain, sensitivity, swelling, pressure, or discomfort when chewing, it is important to contact a local dentist for an evaluation instead of waiting for the pain to pass. Tooth pain can come from a cavity, a cracked tooth, an infected nerve, a gum problem, a bite issue, or an impacted wisdom tooth, and the right treatments depend on the cause. Our team can examine the area, use imaging when necessary, and explain whether you may need a filling, crown, root canal therapy, extraction, periodontal treatment, or another option.

How can I prevent cavities between dental visits?

Between visits, you can lower your risk of cavities by brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, flossing daily, drinking water, limiting sugary snacks and acidic drinks, and keeping up with regular dental cleanings. Cavities often develop when plaque sits on the teeth and feeds on sugars, creating acids that weaken enamel. Routine cleanings help remove buildup you cannot fully clean at home, while regular exams allow our team to catch early decay before it becomes painful or more complicated to treat.
